Great little game! Art is superb, restrained palette, and mechanics are about as good as any platformer I've played on itch. Great work!

Aw, cute! I like experiences that don't need to prolong their message, sometimes it's nice to just enjoy a short concise experience. Good job!

Got a black screen.

Did you tried the downloadable version? sometimes the web version needs some time to start running

Will try download.

Download version worked much better.

Hey. I recorded a video about the Unexpected jam and included your game in it. If you want to cut your game out of the video, let me know. However, if you like the video, I make similar videos every day. I will be happy if you subscribe. Anyway, I enjoyed playing your game.

Haha, great little game. Funny subversion on common game tropes.

very funny highly unexpected it was wonderful and a great surprise https://youtu.be/Yhl4-sDewKk

Funny, unexpected and cute! I love how simple it is and how you managed to make it so good despite being so short!

An unexpectedly enjoyable experience, given how short it is, but I don't think it needs to be longer to get its point across; if you think of it as a subversion of Mario, it even makes sense that it ends immediately after you reach the "first" castle. After all, you'd expect it to continue after that because an actual Mario game would, so the abrupt ending is fitting unexpected!

That's not to say that I wouldn't enjoy playing an extended version, of course; the muted Gameboy-esque palette and classic sound effects are strangely soothing and knocking the planks off the door in the very beginning was oddly yet immensely satisfying. It also feels like there's something going on in the backstory, what with the house being boarded up from the outside and the "There he goes again" attitude of the princess and the not-Goomba if you knock yourself, but maybe that's just me?

Anyway, I had fun and it's clearly well-crafted despite is brevity. Good job!

Wow thx, for the detailed feedback. I am appreciate it a lot. And yes, I developed some kind of background story. Even if it is not the focus of the project, I believe that it gives some kind of depth to the world

Nice Art and concept playing of mario, however I think That more aspects of this game are needed. Maybe a Pipe that just leads to a sewer. Keep it up
